This organization, representing more than 90% of the chemical-manufacturing operations in Canada, aims to promote competitive, responsible, and credible chemical production. CCPA’s Responsible Care Initiative addresses environmental concerns about the manufacture, distribution, use, and disposal of chemicals. The organization produces several publications -- available online -- that may be helpful for chemical-industry members worldwide. The “Responsible Care Report” describes “a new ethic for the safe and environmentally sound management of chemicals throughout their life cycle.” CCPA also publishes an annual “Reducing Emissions” report in which member companies review the environmental performance of their manufacturing operations.
