Formed by major electronics manufacturers, Electronics Product Stewardship Canada (EPS Canada) is working with some of the largest manufacturers in Canada, as well as provincial regulators, retailers, NGOs, and consumer groups, to design, implement, and promote a national electronics end-of-life program. The national action plan being developed by EPS Canada will establish environmental handling fees for each major electronics line and a national reporting system to ensure transparency and accountability. Handling fees will be redistributed to provincial/regional recycling organizations. The program's initial focus will be on personal computers, monitors, televisions, laptop computers, and printers; additional electronics material will be added as the program develops.
