Corsair, a maker of memory, liquid cooling and power supplies for computers, has announced all of its power supply units have been awarded 80 Plus certification.
The 80 Plus certification is a requirement to receive some Energy Star ratings. The 80 Plus specification requires power supplies in computers and servers to be 80 percent or greater energy efficient at 20 percent, 50 percent and 100 percent of rated load.
The rating means power supplies are more stable, reduce electricity use, emit less heat and need less cooling.
"At Corsair, we feel like it is our responsibility to maintain high standards so our customers don't have to make the choice between excellent performance and energy efficiency," Jack Peterson, Corsair's vice president of corporate marketing said in a statement.
